Growing up in Turin was not all bad. The first time hearing Monuments, he knew what he wanted; The 909. He had a poster of it's advert in his teenage boy room. The local music store clerk did not allow him to try it. After all, the price tag was unattainable. Then there was something else. Right there, next to it. Smaller price tag. He built up courage, and asked the clerk to try it. "Whatever", the clerk responded. He was handed a pair of headphones, and for the first time he finally got to disappear into the step sequencer matrix of a Roland Drum Machine. To any other person, the sound of this lesser unit might have been disappointing. Not to him. He knew he had to have it. This changes everything. One year later the 909 poster was gone from the wall. Instead, there was a new electronic device in the room. Right next to the second hand DX7. On the same table as the 244 Porta Studio he had borrowed from school without permission. The 707. He started working on a new song. Taking him on a musical Voyage, built on everything he had dreamt of until this very moment. His final destination; Voyage 707.
